Suzuki pitched what he calls a touch panel shooter to Apple, but hesitated to call it the spiritual successor to Space Harrier. Suzuki said he always had this idea for fantasy shooters, but in the 1980s, limited available technology led to Space Harrier. In 2022, new technologies and approaches turned his idea into Air Twister. “This is my ideal fantasy shooter. I think it feels quite different when played,” Suzuki said.
